Thank you to our Sponsor:

Secours Lapins Québec (Quebec Rabbit Rescue) is NOT a shelter. We are a network of volunteer foster homes. These foster homes take in rabbits until permanent homes can be found. We can only take in as many rabbits as we have foster homes.

We cannot investigate cruelty complaints and have no authority to seize animals.

If you would like to foster or adopt a rabbit, please contact us.

If you have a rabbit you want to give up, and we are currently full, please try to keep your rabbit as long as possible and check back with us in a few weeks to see if any new foster homes have become available. Unfortunately we cannot save every rabbit. Please be patient and give your bunny a chance. With your cooperation, we will do our best.

Why a rabbit rescue?

Rabbits are the third most popular pet and one of the most neglected.

Many people buy rabbits as Easter gifts for children who grow tired of them after the initial delight. These bunnies are often surrendered to shelters after a month or two because the child has lost interest or been bitten due to rough, unsupervised handling of a creature who needs a very gentle touch.

Proper treatment of rabbits will yield a wonderful result. They can be the most sweet and affectionate of animals and lots of fun to watch when they are given a healthy, happy, bunny-appropriate environment.

Rabbits end up in shelters, or worse, set free in the wild with very slim chances of survival because people either lose interest or never bothered to become educated about rabbits in the first place. Learning what makes rabbits tick and what their needs are will result in a happy relationship with their human companions. Lack of knowledge can result in a traumatized bunny, who lunges and bites, or a bunny in seriously ill health.

Due to lack of space and proper care at shelters, we decided to start a rabbit rescue. These little furballs deserve better than euthanasia due to a shortage of good homes. We propose to find those homes.

Please join us in helping the rabbits!

**UPDATE: May 18th, 2008: Midnight is ADOPTED!!!**

AAA

Now she is happy and healthy in her new home, but when she came to us she was suffering from pneumonia and ear mites. With medical care provided by QRR she has made a complete recovery.

*BACKGROUND INFO*
In March 2008: 300+ Rabbits were taken from a farm in Ontario
by OSPCA due to cruel conditions.
QRR brought 27 of those rabbits to Montreal.

These bunnies still need your help

Midnight's brothers and sister still need medical care. QRR has received several generous donations from individuals but we are still short of our funding goal to treat respiratory infections, mites, and to spay and neuter all the Ontario rescued bunnies.

So far we have raised a little over $500 but
we need to raise another $500 at least.

If you would like to donate
towards that care click here
